Interview #1: This person is my grandmother. She does not have a phone and rather sleeps on the airplane to pass time. She believes that people will be disruptive with Wi-Fi and it will prevent interaction with people sitting next to you. Also, when the flight attendant is speaking to you, you will most likely be focused on your phone and ignore them.
Interview #2: This person is my aunt. She believes that people will be glued to their phones and not pay attention to their surroundings. She believes that Wi-Fi also will increase the turbulence. She also believes that there are more things to do on airplanes (sleep, watch movies).
Interview #3: This person is my grandmother's friend. He believes that it is a complicated issue because airplanes need to transmit this information to their aircrafts and it may be a disaster and can be very expensive. Also, some businesses know that by being on airplanes that some will not have Wi-Fi so it is understandable that they cannot get to the phone/computer right away.
Interview #4: This person is my cousin. He believes that Wi-Fi on planes is good to an extent, but should not be accepted. Planes are supposed to be relaxing and you do not want to hear people playing with their phones, blasting music, or watching movies loudly. As far as the extent, people should use their phones for family emergencies.
Interview #5: This person is an acquaintance. She believes that Wi-Fi is ruining the human nature. She thinks that humans are prone to sleeping and human interaction. She believes being on a plane is to get away from the drama experienced back home. She is very superstitious and was addicted to Wi-Fi and her phone at one point where she cannot get rid of it.
Who: People that do not use Wi-Fi and do not care for free Wi-Fi on board the aircraft.
What: The need that I identified is using the Wi-Fi for free time and emergencies.
Why: It was hard to get people outside the boundary because most people rely on Wi-Fi and other services for their free time.
Inside Outside
Mostly teenagers, business people, young adults Elderly people, flight attendants
The need is the free Wi-Fi on airlines People that do not care about the product
People want to pass time or handle important business People do not use their phones or
calls. think it is an annoyance
The inside boundary consists of mostly young adults that want to pass time on this and wish to not pay the expenses of the flight's wifi.
The outside boundary consists of mostly the elderly and do not necessarily use phones, so this won't be an issue for them.

Solving the Problem
My selected opportunity consists of free Wi-Fi on board the aircraft. The solution of this will include airlines offering free Wi-Fi to customers on board. Some airline trips are $2,000 to fly -- why pay more when your expenses are already too much (water bill, electrical bill). Also, some televisions offered on board crash or have limited movie selections. People also need Wi-Fi for business calls and emergencies. Being on a flight for twenty-four hours is tough, especially not being entertained. Also, airlines can operate hotspot in the air, instead of relying on satellites.

Testing the Hypothesis Part 1
Free Wi-Fi
on International and National Flights
Many
airlines do not have Wi-Fi on board their flight; some airlines that utilize
wife on board, however, charge customers for their Wi-Fi. Airline tickets are
already expensive and the least they could do is utilize free Wi-Fi on board or
establish Wi-Fi especially on long flights to the other side of the world.
The Who:
Airlines not utilizing Wi-Fi or overcharging for Wi-Fi
The What:
Wi-Fi included in airline bill
The Why:
Airlines are super expensive and flights can often be boring especially on 15+
hours of doing absolutely nothing or watching the same movie again and again.
Testing
the Who: Most of the people I know whether it is family, friends, or even
people on the same plane complain about this issue. Especially with other
living expenses, airlines can at least satisfy their guests with free Wi-Fi or
utilize Wi-Fi on board. Also, if there is an emergency and someone needs to be
on the phone, they must be responsive. No one will complain with free Wi-Fi
especially with recent technological advances.
Testing
the What: Do airlines want to overcharge customers to make more profit or do
they really not know how to utilize Wi-Fi on board?
Testing
the Why: I believe both can occur because who does not want more money?
Airlines are all competing amongst each other for the most profit and (best
service) although, they fail to provide Wi-Fi which bugs a lot of customers.
Also, it may also be a problem if they do not have Wi-Fi because they do not
know how to manage it up in the air.
Interview
#1: The first person is my girlfriend. She told me that Wi-Fi on board would be
convenient because if their phone is on airplane mode there is not a lot to do
on board. If there is Wi-Fi, it makes the trip seem less dreading because you
are not given many options to do otherwise. She also agrees that airlines can
be expensive, so why not benefit the customer and give them a free Wi-Fi code
to use on board, whether it is one hour or twenty-four hours depending on the
flight.
Interview
#2: The second person is my father. He believes that Wi-Fi should be
established only if the person does not call on the phone nor talk loudly. He
is neutral about this subject. He doesn’t use his phone for social media, so
this does not really concern him. If a person wants to talk on the phone badly,
then they shouldn’t be charged for it.
Interview
#3: The third person is a friend. She believes that airlines should definitely
offer complimentary Wi-Fi that actually works, especially if the flight is
going to be super long. Airlines need to take into account that a lot of people
travel for business and therefore need Wi-Fi during their flight to work on
projects or connect with business partners. If there is an emergency at home or
at work then it is useful.
Interview
#4: The fourth person is a friend. He believes that Wi-Fi should be free on
national flights, since international flights cannot get Wi-Fi over ocean. It
should be free for shorter flights because no one would want to actually
purchase it for a short flight. They would rather just wait. It also would be
more economical for airlines to offer Wi-Fi for shorter flights versus longer
flights.
Interview
#5: The fifth person is a friend. She believes that Wi-Fi should be complimentary.
It would be useful for emergencies and help pass time faster on long trips. During
take-off is when one should not use their phone due to the interference, but
other than that then they should use the Wi-Fi on board.
I know
that Wi-Fi now is not as convenient as I thought it would be. My friend in the
fourth interview’s dad is a pilot. He said that over large bodies of water
there is no way of having service or Wi-Fi due to no satellite connections.
Also, there has to be interference in mind when one takes off or lands. This
can be highly dangerous, but at the same time it would be more convenient for
emergencies and work.

Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends
Two
opportunities that were economic that I want to discuss are: contacting family
in Puerto Rico and Trump eliminating the federal program spending. Two
opportunities that are regulatory that I want to discuss are: GMO non- labeling
and parking at University of Florida.
1a. I
found the contacting family in Puerto Rico from Hurricane Maria from the Miami
Herald Page. This lead me to think that this opportunity exists because I have
many Puerto Rican friends that attend UF and are devastated by the disaster
that Hurricane Maria did. The prototypical customers would be the inhabitants
of the island. The opportunity is relatively hard to exploit because many
people cannot afford another home nor food nor water to survive themselves from
the Hurricane aftermath.
1b. From
my experience, this seems to be an issue for my friends as some of them do not
have the money to pay for the repairs that hurricane has done to their country.
Other people might not deal with the fact this may cause a long run in their
history. Also, it is very drastic to think that some people might have to leave
their families from this incident.
2a. I found the federal program spending from the Miami
Herald Page, as well. This lead me to think that this opportunity exists
because people cannot fully thrive without the money they need in order to
survive. Trump is cutting the spending from The Department of Housing and Urban Development’s
Community Block Grant Program. The customer with the opportunity seems to be
the congressmen fighting the bill to pass on the right to give $3 billion
dollars to those that need the money to survive the after math of the
hurricane. This opportunity seems to be difficult to exploit because the President
is in charge of the office, so he has power over everyone.
2b. A lot of people seem to
ignore the fact that Trump did not want to spend money on another peoples’
well-being. Some people do not pay attention to this matter because they can
afford this cost, while other people cannot afford to pay the damage.
3a. I found the GMO non-
labeling at my nearby Publix in Gainesville and in Miami (hometown). This
information has led me to think that this opportunity exists because I have
experienced this firsthand as I go through each and every one of their packing
labels in poultry, meat, fish, etc. The customer with the opportunity seems to
be me because I want to complain to Publix that they do not have GMO labeling
in their products. Publix should note which foods are organic or have GMOs.
This opportunity seems to be relatively hard to exploit since Publix is a big
company and I am a single customer that is outnumbered by thousands of
businessmen that own the food company.
3b. A lot of people do not
care if they eat GMOs because it is cheaper and the food is bigger. Some
people, like me, are very health-conscious about food and we would like to know
what it is in our food, especially if we are buying it. It annoys me because
companies should at least indicate what they are putting in their foods to
avoid conflict. I am sure other people have complained, but I am willing to do
further action if this process is not done immediately.
4a. I found parking in
Gainesville first eye, as it is hard for my friend and I to find parking at UF.
We cannot find a spot without the vehicle getting towed for an expensive price.
The customer with the opportunity seems to be us as we are not satisfied with
parking at UF. This exploit seems to be easy because many students complain
about parking at UF. If all of the students can continue to overpower UF they
can change their guidance with cars and rules.
4b. I know this is a big
deal for students at UF, but some people do not want to take immediate action,
but instead complain that this action is not being done. Who is going to take
action if this action isn’t done?
